Listen Up: Tribeca Is Spotlighting Audio Storytellers
Our audio storytelling programmer, Davy Gardner is fairly new to the Tribeca team but he’s already got extensive history in the audio world.. “I would say I’m an audio writer/creator/producer,” he explains.? “And that I am fascinated by and enjoy the curatorial side of things as well.”
Before joining Tribeca, Gardner served as a scripted audio writer, director and producer for companies like Radiotopia, Wondery, Audible, and others.??
Since joining the Tribeca Festival inJanuary, Gardner has worked to keep Tribeca at the forefront of the growing audio storytelling medium. “[Tribeca’s] program aims to celebrate this medium with the high-level of recognition and prestige that it deserves,” explains Garnder. “We’re spotlighting the work of both emerging and established storytellers in the space, and giving those creators a platform for their work to be discovered.”
When asked about the future of his favorite medium, he’s certain audio is just getting started. “The demand for it is growing massively,” Gardner shares. “I expect that scripted audio will become an increasingly central part of the podcast landscape in the next few years.”
