The SHE 2024 Conference marks our 10th anniversary!?
From the first ever Social — Human — Equity (SHE) Conference in 2014 we have seen exponential growth, not just in terms of physical attendees and global reach, but impact. In 2019 the conference was held in on a larger scale by moving into one of Norway’s largest venues, Oslo Spektrum. 2024 marks our 10th anniversary, and we will once again expand our scale with regard to meaningful impact and our areas of responsibility. ?
Much of the work we at Social — Human — Equity are doing is rooted in the belief that centring the “S” (Social) in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations are crucial if we want these efforts to not be in vain. While well-intended, many efforts to implement?a system of value creation through a lens of social sustainability are diffuse and challenging to?gather tangible results from. ?
Promoting change until all are included?
Behind gender, backgrounds and titles, we are all human beings.?We all have a valuable perspective.?And the world is poorer without it. Still, the bulk of our leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs come from the same, overrepresented group.?
SHE was born with a desire to end this lack of balance. To?change what is inexcusably unjust and create opportunities not?just for some – but for all of us. And not only because it’s fair.?We believe progress will also yield a sustainable long-term growth.?
With?equity?as the driving force, SHE empowers people to make business fair for everyone. We establish the space, set the agenda, and engage our growing, global community.
Is your company ready to put social sustainability at the forefront??
SHE 2024 is rooted in the development of a cross sector approach to social sustainability. We believe that social impact is a key factor in driving innovation. ?
5 reasons to attend the SHE Conference:
Listen. Learn. Act.?
Next year’s conference will as always be rooted in a holistic approach to social sustainability, but with an added dimension of implementing change through our Listen. Learn. Act (LLA) framework. This framework is grounded in the principle that fostering social sustainability requires a thoughtful and ongoing process of engagement, education, and tangible actions. ?
In a world where social sustainability is paramount, the Listen. Learn. Act. framework emerges as a powerful tool for driving meaningful transformation and long-term sustainable growth. This approach underscores the importance of engaging with stakeholders at every level, acknowledging their experiences, and taking purposeful actions to effect real change.?
Understanding the framework?
Listen?
We promote and facilitate discussions between key industry players, global leaders, and changemakers. By encountering, understanding, and being challenged by opinions and experiences that might differ from your own, the 'why' and 'how' of social sustainability become clear. In addition, this encourages participation and input from a diverse range of individual and groups without forcing those vulnerable to carry to burden to always having to speak up and educate. The first step toward impactful actions is developing the ability to listen.?

Gain valuable insight!?
Learn?
Active listening provides you with the essential tools for addressing intricate challenges and acquiring the competencies needed for anchoring innovation and expansion in social sustainability. Irrespective of your current social sustainability endeavours, the imperative of continuous learning remains paramount. Given the ever-evolving nature of the challenges at hand, cultivating an enduring capacity for dynamic lifelong learning becomes indispensable.??
Translate your intentions into impact!?
Act?
By knowing how to put people and their needs at the core of business, we can create more resilient business models that are better able to handle and overcome economic, environmental, and social challenges. The ability to be a dynamic learner through active listening can prove both you and your organisation with a bottom line for long-term growth rooted in social sustainability. When you have gained this understanding – you must act.?
Align your mission and actions!?
Transformative Actions?
The LLA framework recognizes that social sustainability is not a one-time effort, but an ongoing commitment. It emphasizes the importance of adaptability, transparency, and collaboration in the pursuit of social equity, inclusivity, and well-being.?
By consistently applying this framework, communities and organizations can make meaningful progress toward fostering social sustainability and creating a more just and resilient society. Most of us are well aware of the underlying urgency of promoting social sustainability. In their recent SDG progress report, UN Secretary General António Guterres states that:
“Unless we act now, the 2030 Agenda will become an epitaph for a world that might have been.”??
Centring the “S” in ESG and developing more resilient organisational structures and transformative economics promoting social sustainability is therefore a crucial foundation of the LLA framework. By addressing social issues, businesses and organizations can contribute to long-term economic stability.
This acknowledges the importance of engaging with a broad range of stakeholders, including employees, customers, communities, and civil society organizations. Engaging these stakeholders is crucial for understanding social issues and developing effective strategies for positive change.?
