The list to more info on the RAD awards 2021 short list

The UK based RAD Awards published last week the short list of chosen campaigns and other work related to employer branding and talent attraction. Winners are chosen in a free virtual event on 25 March.

I was bummed out they didn’t include any details or links to extra info on the nominees.

So I thought I would delight others by doing the googleing for them... before realizing the list was quite long :)

But luckily it was an interesting exercise as there were many different kinds examples of how employers are investing in both EB and talent attraction. Some were of course IMHO clearly better than others – so I also took the time to list my favourites.

 So here goes. And if someone is better at finding more info on the work I didn’t (listed in the end) – please comment and I’ll update the list.

1)What the F – SMRS for Unlocked (in categories “Diversity and Inclusion Initiative”, “Integrated Campaign” and “Graduate Campaign”)

F… unnily done video and good idea on how to bring out the good parts of a job that probably doesn’t seem that appealing to young folks

2) A Lidl less ordinary – ThirtyThree for Lidl (in category “employer brand – national)

I like the way they showcase their EVP-themes in a straight forward manner with text+video. The themes are also explained quite well - even though I personally would have loved some more facts and examples to back up the explanation. But I especially liked the “this isn't stacking shelves - this is feeding families" sum in the last of the three videos on the web site. It bravely brings up a common perception and gives quite a purposeful response to it.

Ohh my how much interesting content they have put in – and not much actually related to them as an employer but instead to topics relevant to students! And also very nice digital solution. Check out the impressive “Feel good fest”!!

I won’t vouch much for the insightfulness of all of the content... but this sure is a great example of what employer BRANDING on steroids looks like…

VERY straight forward approach to pushing your employees to act as ambassadors. I do like it how it lowers the bar and encourages the desired actions... but it takes a certain kind of culture for this approach to work without making employees feel awkward.
