The A list of medical practice success

Many doctors have been advised at one point or another in their career that the keys to practice success , be it as an idependent or employed physician , are the 3As: availability, affability and ability.

These days, omnichannel marketing probably has more to do with the growth of your practice than the 3As.

In case you haven't noticed, the world of medical practice has changed substantially over the past few years, so maybe it's time add a few things to the A list. Like:

1. Affordability
2. Accessibility, particularly online
3. Accountability
4. Appropriateness
5. Advisor role instead of paternal role
6. Awareness of threats and opportunities
7. Ability to practice not just the art of medicine, but the business of medicine as well
8. Acceptance of diversity
9. Advantages of well being
10. Acting to change what, where, how, when and why you are doing what you are doing now
11. Advertising and marketing
12. Avoiding burnout

Of course, despite the conventional wisdom, non of these guarantee career or practice success, much less happiness. A lot of it has to do with the Advantages derived from luck and happy Accidents.
