Lisa Garcia Quiroz: A Life Lived with Purpose

Lisa Garcia Quiroz passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018. She was 57 years old. We first met as freshman at Harvard, arriving in the fall of 1979 to launch ourselves into our college years. It took time for most of us to figure out what we wanted to do and how. Lisa, however, already seemed to know. She knew that she had a purpose. Her purpose was to leverage all that Harvard had to offer to enhance the experience of others, in particular for her Latino community. This commitment continued in her professional life. She was a leader that cared. There are many people that have benefited from her mentorship and guidance.

Harvard’s Kennedy School announced a graduate student fellowship in her honor. Please read the school's announcement below to understand the impact that Lisa made throughout her life and consider a contribution.

In tribute to Lisa, we must strive to make a difference in people’s lives... in our family, in our workplace and in our communities…as Lisa always did. One of Lisa’s mentees said it best. ”I have wondered many times over the past few months, with the current environment, what would Lisa do? She would be brave and challenge us to do the same.”

Lisa, we will miss you.

Lisa was one of the best. I and so many Time Warner colleagues and alumnae benefited from her drive and grace.
