Lippert and MAKINSIGHTS convene first Information Security Special Interest Group for the RV-related Industries

MAKINSIGHTS facilitated the first Information Security Special Interest Group meeting for the RV & Related Industries (RVISIG) in South Bend, Indiana on April 19.?Vince Doepker, CIO of Lippert Industries championed this event which was attended by other leading member organizations such as Forest River and Winnebago and supported by the FBI and RV Industry Association.?
The focus of the event was to better understand the industries’ information risk environment and kick-start the process of analysis and Information Security collaboration.?Don Clark, founder of Grand Design RV, was the keynote speaker and shared his own personal experiences to illustrate why Information Security is a timely topic.
Doepker discussed how the RV Industry with its rapid time to market and agile R&D processes requires an increased focus on Information Security to prevent unexpected risks from crystallizing.?Nick Suttle, the Lippert Director of Information Security and Compliance, detailed several hypothetical incident scenarios and highlighted how a defense in depth strategy has paid dividends for Lippert over time.
Plans are underway to formalize the RVISIG and allow the industry to share best practices and communicate in real-time.?The next meeting is planned for the Fall of 2022.
