LION’S SHARE: Broadway show gives back to Entertainment Community Fund

The much-loved Broadway version of The Lion King will celebrate its 25th anniversary by donating ticket sales to charity

The anniversary production of the show will hit the Minskoff Theatre stage on 13 November and will see proceeds from ticket sales go to a charity that provides performers and backstage workers with vital funds, while also generating awareness.

Founded in 1882, The Entertainment Community Fund, formally known as The Actors Fund, provides a safety net of services to ensure individuals who are working in the industry are valued and economically secure. That makes it integral within the performing arts community.

The Entertainment Community Fund recently tweeted saying its team is “honoured to have a limited number of tickets available to The Lion King’s 25th Anniversary Performance. Sales from these tickets will support our programs and services for those in need in the performing arts.”

There’s a lesson to be learned here: events need to support the very people that make them what they are. With Ticketpass, each time a ticket is sold, we’ll donate, on your behalf, to a cause that matters to you. What’re you waiting for?
