A Lion’s Heart // Psalm 31:24

By Mark Jordan

Did you know that God commands His followers to be bold and courageous? Why do you think that is? Well, for starters, the Apostle Paul wrote that with God being for us, no one can stand against us (Romans 8:31). You with the Lord is a majority regardless of the challenge you face. Now, this doesn’t mean we won’t face challenges, which can be hard for anyone. No matter how much we know otherwise, there is always piece of us that thinks our faith should protect us from problems. What it does protect us from, though, is the ultimate pain and punishment; i.e., hell. Let your faith give you courage so you can take heart into whatever it is you face. And when you face it in Christ, you have His heart — the heart of a lion — ready to roar! This is something about which King David knew well, and as the Bible reveals, he was a man after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 13:14). So, whatever you face today, know you face it with God’s help; therefore, be strong, take heart, and hope in the Lord.
