Linux Engineer - CHICAGO We are seeking individuals with expertise in Red Hat 7.x and excellent communication skills

V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring a Linux Engineer for our premier client in Chicago, Illinois.

• Azure Certification is preferred.

Education and Experience ??

• 5+ years of experience in Linux/RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) system administration.
• 2-3 years Azure experience, Azure Certification is preferred, Azure DevOps knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with Windows servers, Active Directory/LDAP project managers.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ??

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply these skills to identify and resolve anomalies in system functionality and performance.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies like VMWare Server/ESX.
• Knowledge of the SAS VIYA Platform is a great plus but not required.
• Knowledge of Azure monitoring, service principal in Azure, NSG rule, Azure Key vault.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:Job Responsibilities:?

• Maintain system security by noticing faults and vulnerabilities within the server’s architecture.
• Responsible, highly reliable, organized; able to work individually and collaboratively with peers.
• Perform System Maintenance activities like reviewing backups, error logs and user-reported errors and identify stable and reliable solutions.
• Develop and deploy proactive solutions and set up alerts to ensure system usability across the organization.
• Fix and analyze technical incidents, solve technical ad hoc problems.
• Performance monitoring and managing the system capacity.
• Install and Configure Windows Servers and Linux Server.
• Develop servers and provide support to individual users to ensure that the system works reliably and quickly.
• Manage server virtualization technologies like VMWare Server/ESX.
• Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and can manage projects of varying length.
