Data-driven modeling

Pioneered by Schmid (2010), the DMD algorithm was first defined and showcased its efficacy in extracting insights from high-dimensional fluid dynamics data. The burgeoning success of DMD can be attributed to its equation-free, data-driven nature, enabling precise decomposition of complex systems into spatiotemporal coherent structures

• Researchers uses Ansys CFD to study the aerodynamics of hairstyles and clothing styles in the long jump and sprint (Aug. 2024)

Hairstyle and clothing however can cause drag to vary by more than 25% and flight distance by more than 10?cm, mostly by impacting the take-off speed
