LinkedInTip 192 - Are you in Sales?

Like it of not, you are in sales.

You are in sales every waking minute of every day!

You are selling yourself to your spouse, your family, the butcher, the baker the candlestick maker!

So!

Why do we need sales?

Notice the grocer down the street?

There always seems to be droves of people entering his store and leaving heavy laden with bags of groceries!

How does he do it?

Do you think he just puts an advertisement in the local newspaper and then sits waiting for the phone to ring?

Or perhaps he puts one ad on the radio and then sits waiting for people to come to his store!

I kind of think not!

Do you think that there is more to it than that?

Do you think that he has some kind of marketing plan?

How many times do you think he had to advertise with flyers, in the newspaper, on radio and Television?

Do you think that once would do it?

No!

There had to be a plan!

Do you think that no matter what type of business you have, you need to have a marketing plan?

Or do business owners just sit and wait for people to show up?

Hardly!

How many different kinds of marketing systems do you think that the local businessman has in place?

Probably more than one.

Right!

So, by extension, what would you think has to happen when you are marketing yourself online through the internet?

Do you think that just putting one post up there will bring you the business you need and want for your business?

Do you think that you can just post and expect customers or prospects to come to you?

Or...

Is there more to it than that?

News flash!

There is WAY more to it than that!

If you are marketing online, you need to be posting on key platforms 3-5 times a day on average.

Just posting once a month or once a week or even twice or three times a week is not enough.

You need to be posting every day on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest!

Yup!

I'm serious!

And-

Just posting is not enough!

You need to be reaching out to people on your platforms and building relationships with them.

"Like" other people's posts. "Share" their posts. "Comment" on their posts.

Invite people to connect with you!

Invite people to hop on a call with you to discover how you can help each other.

Of all the social media platforms, LinkedIn is the most professional platform!

It is a good idea to become proficient with LinkedIn because the average income of people on LinkedIn is $75-86K USD Annually!

The average sales on Facebook is something like $24K USD Annually!

So where do you think the people are who can afford to buy your "stuff?"

Then do you think it might be worthwhile to learn how to master LinkedIn marketing?
