LinkedIn's New Profile Redesign & Functionality

Are you ready for the latest LinkedIn Profile Redesign and Functionality or do you already have it? Well [In] just started it's staggered roll out, on 11.10.2021, so you may not see it yet. With the help of a couple of great friends and LinkedIn Experts Jeff Young & Gillian Whitney we have assembled for you a quick review with visuals.

There doesn't appear to be any changes to the [Top Card] of our profiles but right after that is where all the changes begin. So we will go right to the changes.

The [About] section has moved to the top of the profile and instead of 3 lines of preview, we will now have 4 lines.

The [Featured] section now shows 3 full features, instead of the old 2.5. As the visual is thinner and taller, it may allow more information to show.

The Activity section now has a [Show more], the [Mention]s are hot tagged, [Reactions] have visuals, and [Poll]s no longer show our [Profile photo] but do show [Vote] counts. If you [Reshare] a post it does show the source it came from.

The [Experience] section now only shows 2 Lines of the position [Description]. The [Rich media] uploaded went from 5 to 6 images, the last tinted grayed and still displays the number of files available beyond what is showing.

The [Your Dashboard] was split into to separate features [Analytics] and [Resources]. [Analytics] will house your [Profile views], [Post views] & [Search appearances]. [Resources] will contain [Creator mode], [My network], [Salary insights] & [My items]

[Analytics] will house your [Profile views], [Post views] & [Search appearances].

[Resources] will contain [Creator mode], [My network], [Salary insights] & [My items]

? All Star profile rating no longer appears but if you profile is less than ? All Star those categories will show.

Functionality of [Mention]s has improved with the complete [Headline]

[Education] has become its own separate box but appears unchanged. [Volunteer experience] was renamed [Volunteering] and has moved up the profile, has its own box, and the [Description] is now reduced to 2 Lines showing. The see [X more experiences] where X was up to 5, has become [See all XX experiences] where XX is the total.

[Licenses & certifications] has dropped one space down the profile and has its own box. A [See credential] option has been added, without requiring you to click on the title to get more details.

Skills & endorsements] has become [Skills] and has added a second line for [Endorsed by MEMBER NAME and XXX other mutual connections]. Pardon my capture mistake, as the first example in screen shot for the NEW [Skills] is correct but the second two are not. It appears at this time [Skills] endorsement no longer requires us to check off the basic ratings or relationship.

[Recommendations] has taken a single column approach, no longer provides number counts next to [Received] or [Given] and the [See more] that would provide up to 5 more, has been replaced with a [Show all XXX Received] or [Show all XXX Given] where XXX is the total.
