LinkedIn Videos & Limitless Possibilities
"A picture is worth a thousand words. A video is worth perhaps million words."
In July 2017, LinkedIn started rolling out the much awaited feature for its 500+ million members to record and upload videos directly on their LinkedIn feed (without the need to first upload them on YouTube, which has been the case so far). This in my opinion is going to be game changer, driving crazy engagement on LinkedIn, as professionals now have the opportunity to visually express themselves, and let their opinions, perspectives, thoughts, learning and experience get shared with other members at scale. In this post, I share my thoughts on how members and enterprises could leverage LinkedIn Videos to leverage #EmployeeAdvocacy for amplifying their #EmployerBrand.
There are 500+ million professionals on LinkedIn (with 2 new professionals signing up every second). Each professional can now use LinkedIn Videos to be seen as a Talent Magnet or Social Ambassador. Well, all they need to do is record videos and upload them via their LinkedIn Apps (mobile or laptop). For organizations, their employee networks are on an average 10X times the Followers on their Social Media channels. Hence, organizations should now leverage the collective reach of their employees to build, showcase and amplify their Employer Brand at an unprecedented scale.
Love what you do and do what you love - All passionate purposeful people are always excited about letting the world know about their work and why they enjoy doing what they do. LinkedIn Videos will now enable this to be showcased easily and authentically in a far engaging manner.
Becoming a Talent Magnet is easier than ever - We all know that talent attracts talent. One always aspires to work with a team of amazing professionals, who work hard and party harder. LinkedIn Videos will now enable employees to showcase the work life integration aspects to prospective team mates. Show others your office, team mates and how you have fun at work.
Be the Social Ambassador you should be - In today's world of Digital and Social Media, people are flooded with information from several sources. However, many studies have shown that people trust people more than they trust the organizations they represent. Hence, when people share the same updates that have been shared by their organizations, the engagement is much higher in the case of former. Becoming a Social Ambassador for your organization, can transform the way it markets and sells.
Culture eats strategy for breakfast - In the world of today, culture is one of the most crucial aspects in decision making with respect to a candidate choosing to become an employee. Organizations, time and again have seen the difference being made by a great culture and a culture that only exists in writing. LinkedIn Videos will now enable employees to showcase to the professionals, what it means to work at their organization.
Amplify your thought leadership - Every professional is a thought leader. Each day, professionals share insights with colleagues, customers and partners. At times, they are panelists or keynote speakers. What they miss out most of the times is sharing their perspectives with the larger audience, as what inspires one, can inspire several others. LinkedIn Videos will now enable professionals to share their experience, learning, insights and thoughts with millions of professionals on LinkedIn. The scale at which one can now expect to amplify one's thought leadership is unprecedented.
