LinkedIn Title length Goldilocks Zone
Having recently joined data annotation firm iMerit, I updated my LinkedIn profile knowing I'll be visiting EMEA prospects' profiles--some of whom will notice (data). It's important my Title explain iMerit's value and who we help, but within LinkedIn's Title character length limits: 42 on mobile and 64 on desktop.
Because LinkedIn use is 60% mobile and 40% desktop, the right approach is to have a 60-64 character title whose first 38-42 characters can live by themselves so that mobile users get a full message and desktop users get the fuller message's maximum impact.
VERY FEW have profiles with character lengths in that 38- 64 character goldilocks zone, though. I looked at almost 4000 LinkedIn users' Titles, and here's what I found:
Only 39% of Titles are 38-64 characters, which means 61% of you have Titles that either don't say enough, or say more than will be seen.
