LinkedIn Tips for Commercial Real Estate Brokers

Email, snail mail, postcards, letters, phoning, texting, social media…the number of ways to touch your prospects is overwhelming! That’s why I always coach my clients to pick a small handful from the list above and execute regularly; and I usually suggest LinkedIn as a must.
LinkedIn is a social network specifically designed for business professionals to connect. It has become a go-to-resource for keeping up with what’s relevant today.
LinkedIn is ideal for building connections today that can become future commercial real estate clients!
But first, you need to have a great LinkedIn Profile, here’s how:
1. Have a Profile Headline that uses all of the 2200 characters you are allowed
2. Use Keywords in your Profile Headline
3. Optimize your location: Make sure your geographic location is listed in your profile
4. Use a professional looking photo
5. About: This is valuable real estate and people will read this! Be thoughtful. Be sure to include your contact information at the top of the about section in case your viewer does not scroll down.
6. Featured: Where you highlight best posts, quarterly reports and additional resources are showcased
7. *Customize your Profile URL: LinkedIn.com/in/CindySaxmanSpivack/
8. Delete the section “People Also Viewed”, it gets replaced with “People You May Know”
9. Under “Experience” add key words next to your title. Add industry related experience. This is where to shine
10. Under Education add Volunteer experience if any as well as of course your education
11. The Activity section is where your recent posts and comments are located. This allows the viewer to see what you have been up to on LinkedIn.
12. Endorsements and recommendations: The Law of reciprocity works here
13. Interests: Allows your view to seek common connections/interests
LinkedIn Activities:
Prospect, Add Connections, Private Message, Find People/Research, Use Tags/Hashtags, Join and Participate in Groups
Interacting with LinkedIn, You Can:
Start a post (Published Article/other), Share a post, Write an Article, Post a Video, Comment, Like
Commercial Real Estate Post/Article Ideas:
Current Trends, Trending Topics, Industry (Commercial Real Estate) Research, Market information (comps, listings), Industry News
