LinkedIn Thought leadership ads - like company ads but better

In these infrequently published short tactical intros, we will bring you glimpses of different tactical solutions that might benefit you.

LinkedIn Ads created using the Campaign tools are effective for most advertising needs on LinkedIn. However, in some cases, Thought leadership advertising can be even more beneficial.

Thought leadership ads are a relatively new ad format on the platform. The format allows a company to promote an individual's post using the same ad targeting tools used for other ads. The audience then sees the post with a small note indicating that it's promoted by the company.

This format offers several benefits:

  • It can yield three times the results
  • It fosters a person-to-person connection in the ads and creates an opportunity for direct engagement
  • It makes the advertised content seem more authentic
  • It distributes the workload across a larger team within the company

However, this is not a one-size-fits-all solution and much of the success depends on the individual posting.

Previously, these ads could only promote posts from a company's own employees. Now, you can promote anyone's posts, provided you have permission through the ad review system.
