LinkedIn TBM vs. Substack TBM?

LinkedIn TBM vs. Substack TBM?

A quick note to clear up some confusion between my LinkedIn newsletter (this newsletter), and my Substack newsletter.

tl;dr

  • I very rarely update this newsletter
  • I update the other newsletter weekly and have done so for years

I started the LinkedIn newsletter because I was frustrated that LinkedIn downranks posts with external links. I was sad that the posts I shared with links to the Substack newsletter got almost no views.

I think this was also around the time when I stopped using "X" (I didn't get a blue check, so my views also plummeted), so I was freaking out a little about all the time I spent writing and sharing content, and being at the will/whim of the platforms for who sees what. I figured "more is better."

My strategy has been occasionally re-posting something from the Substack newsletter archive. You'll note I include some text about where to find the original article. But I realize there is still some confusion.

Please consider signing up for the Substack newsletter if you want regular content.

Thanks

John

And for those who still wonder, it is totally worth it, even if you're not, like myself, a product manager. Substack is a very good platform too.
