LinkedIn Survey Insights: Future of Data Management in Construction

At Maxwell GeoSystems, we’re always interested in knowing viewpoints and thoughts from you when it comes to technology and innovation in the construction and infrastructure industries. We recently ran a LinkedIn survey to better understand which technology would have the most impact on Data Management Software in the coming 5 years. The 4 technology option presented were: AI & Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), Common Data Environment Systems, and Cloud-based Management Systems.?

From the total respondents, 76% selected AI & Machine Learning as the technology that is most likely to shape the future of data management softwares. IoT received 12% votes, 7% for Cloud-based Management Systems and 5% for Common Data Environment Systems.

With the vast majority of respondents selecting AI & Machine Learning, it highlights the growing recognition of how these technologies can and will revolutionise data management softwares in construction. With AI’s ability to analyse large amounts of datasets, predict outcomes and automate the decision-making process, is seen by many as a revolutionary shift. At Maxwell GeoSystems, we’ve adopted and integrated AI-driven capabilities in our MissionOS platform, to help project engineers unlock the power of predictive analytics, risk management, and automation, paving the way for smarter and more efficient construction projects.?

IoT or Internet of Things also is showing immense potential for transforming the construction and infrastructure landscape. With the increase of IoT devices being used to collect real-time data from sensors, equipments and various environmental conditions, all this can be fed into platforms such as MissionOS for in-depth analysis and better project outcomes. This results in better informed decisions, improved safety measures and the maintenance of operational efficiency.

Although Cloud-based Management Systems and Common Data Environments received the fewest votes, they still are an integral and crucial component for modern construction and infrastructure projects. Our MissionOS platform is categorised as a Cloud-based Management System as well, as it enables project engineers with high-degrees of collaboration across regions, giving access to critical project data from anywhere, any time. It is also important for project stakeholders to be working from a single-source-of-truth, one like MissionOS, which helps to promote transparency and create harmonious sharing of information amongst teams.

At Maxwell GeoSystems, we are always looking for new and emerging technologies to implement in order to continue innovating our MissionOS platform. This would immensely assist our clients to continue and improve their drive to efficiency, safety and success in construction projects.?

Do you agree with the results from the survey? We’d love to hear back from you on how you see these technologies shaping the future of construction! Let us know in the comments!
