I just received this message on LinkedIn
This guy could care less about those affected by the Optus breach and simply wants to take advantage of people who have been, or could be victims and sell them something to make himself money.
I went to report his spam, but unfortunately on LinkedIn this is a 'Sponsored Message' and I am unable to report it as the spam it is. Of course, this is because LinkedIn make money off this type of communication.
While I understand that Direct Marketing is a thing, especially on LinkedIn , I think that this message is in poor taste and 'Ambulance chasing'.
The sponsored message did not even allow me to link to his profile, but I found it anyway.

and what does he specialise in? Professional Spam, oh, I mean 'marketing'.
I sent him a message, saying the same as I said above here.
No more than a minute or two after this message, I was blocked by him on LinkedIn.
I did attempt to report his 'Sponsored Message' as improper, but LinkedIn gives you the choice of doing it from the message or the post itself, not the person. So I am unable to report it.
Those affected by the Optus breach are going through a lot right now. I am sure this John Bellamy is not the only one trying to take advantage and make a buck of peoples unfortunate circumstances, but when it happens they should be heavily discouraged from doing so.
While Mr Bellamy won't be able to read this article since he has blocked me, I hope other people, especially those who might know him directly, let him know just how in poor taste his spam is.
