Greetings, LinkedIn readers! It's time for the 9th edition of The Extra Thursday newsletter, and boy do we have a spicy topic for you today.
Are you tired of being a mere mortal in your industry? Do you dream of being a thought leader with hordes of followers hanging on your every word? Well, you're in luck, because today we're talking about how to use LinkedIn to become the Zeus of your industry.
First things first, you need to get your profile in order. No one will take you seriously if your profile picture is a selfie taken in the bathroom mirror (unless, of course, you're a bathroom mirror expert). Get yourself a professional headshot and a snazzy banner image that screams "I'm a thought leader, dang it!"
Next, start writing some killer content. None of that boring, generic stuff that everyone else is doing. Be bold, be controversial, and don't be afraid to use a few exclamation points!!! People love exclamation points!!!!!
But don't stop there. Start engaging with other people's content too. Leave thoughtful comments, share interesting articles, and don't be afraid to call out someone when they're wrong. Just remember to do it with a smile and a wink (or maybe an emoji or two).
And finally, don't forget to network like a boss. Connect with other thought leaders in your industry, attend virtual events, and send personalized messages to potential clients. Just don't be that person who sends a connection request and then immediately pitches their services. That's a surefire way to get blocked.
So there you have it, folks. Follow these tips, and you'll be a thought leader in no time. Or at least you'll be the coolest person in your mom's book club. Until next time, start influencing like a boss!
