You've probably heard about it?
Linkedin Social Selling Index (SSI) measures your profiles strength and gives you a score based on a 100-point scale.
It measures four factors how effective you are at :
1. Establishing your professional brand
2. Finding the right people
3. Engaging with insights
4. Building relationships
Why is it important? It indicates your engagement with social selling practices. Whether it's being a thought-leader, finding new sales leads or a job - the higher the score, the better your opportunities are. If you put it in the effort, the better your score will be.
Now let’s look at each of the factors separately.
1. Establishing your professional brand
Is your profile completed with the customer in mind? You can become a thought-leader within your field by publishing meaningful and value-adding posts.
Everyone has something valuable to offer. What are you passionate about? What would you like to be known for?
??How to do it??
You can start by testing out content - write one post a week.
Is it professionals in your field or not? Are your readers from Denmark or abroad? How many people engage with the post? Are people actively starting conversations in the comments section? Is it value-adding?
2. Finding the right people
You can identify prospects in less time by using the 'search' tool (see below).
This is great tool for effective search. Whether you're a job seeker or a professional, you can find lots of valuable data, fast.
??How to do it??
Search for a company or a specific position at a company (For example: SEO specialist) - you can get the results for both jobs in this field but also the people with that title.
It's easy to reach out to find more about that specific skill or a company that you're interested in.
3. Engaging with insights
Here you can discover and share conversation-worthy updates to create and build relationships.
??How to do it??
Engage with what is important to you and share it with others. Giving a post 'like' won't increase your SSI because it's an 'easy' action, whereas if you comment and tag a person, you start a conversation. Does it make sense?
By engaging, creating and sharing content you'll increase your SSI and more importantly, over time can increase your validity and visibility in your field. In the long-run, that is what builds the bridges and relationships.
4. Building relationships
Which brings us to the last point, building relationships.
In today's busy world of social media and what not, long-lasting relationships are becoming more important. We're not robots and business is done between people, not computers.
Your 'building relationships' score will reveal, how good are you at strengthening your network by finding and establishing trust with decision makers in your field.
??How to do it??
This is a combination of the three previous factors all together. By establishing your brand, engaging with insights and finding the right people in your field - this will create and build relationships.
-> Create your brand - how do you want to be seen/heard as?
-> Find the right people to grow your network and knowledge in that area
-> Engage with the relevant content and thought-leaders (-> become one yourself!)
-> Build long-lasting relationships.
Moreover, SSI shows you what is the industry average and also what is the average score of people in that industry.
Linkedin SSI pretty much sums of your 'existence' in Linkedin. The more sharp your profile is, the more you'll stand out and can be found in searches. If you look at it as a 'one big picture' - the more up to date and sharp it is, the better your opportunities are - no matter what you goals are.
What is your score? Do you think it's important?

6 年77 here :) I think it is more important to Sales people, who could be using it every day and who could be using the Sales Navigator. As for other people it can also be interesting to see some statistics, but I wouldn't say i heard people using it much. I noticed that it is a good tool to bring some competition between people in your sales department. :)
