LinkedIn Services Page

Is your business offering services rather than products?

If so, then you need to set up your LinkedIn Services Page. And it is really simple to do... In fact, so far, everyone that offers services that I have talked to about this has found the field is already on their LinkedIn profile. Awesome, way to go LinkedIn, cool, really cool!

But, it's half-empty ... DOH!

So, let's finish the job and get the page set up, it is trivial. From your LinkedIn home page, click on your photo, (top left-hand side) to navigate to your profile.

If you offer services, LinkedIn will have already added the Service Page field to your profile - as shown here.

All we need to do is Edit this in line with our brand copy. Simply click anywhere in the grey 'Providing Services' field.

And the following form appears. Then click 'Edit page', to ermm - edit the page :D

Now we can complete the Services page.

As you see below, you can add up to 10 Services, and a text field of up to 500 characters. There are a couple of things to consider. The order the 'Services provided' are displayed in is the order in which you add them - so if you are promoting a particular service, or have a primary service you may wish to have these at the top of the list. Once selected they cannot be repositioned.

Second - LinkedIn Pages are indexed by the search engines, this may change but at the time of writing, they were, as I tested it ;) So, these 500 characters can do some good hard work for you, lets be sure they are in keeping with your brand message, and maybe a few keywords/phrases in there too. I wanted to use some fresh copy that hadn't been used in my LinkedIn profile, Company Pages or Showcase Pages. So, I chose some suitable copy from our website, this saved me some time and I know it's optimized and importantly it is consistent with the brand message, no surprises - anywhere.

Now we have the content sharp, complete, and ready to publish, scrolling down and there are a couple of tick boxes to consider.

Work Location; LinkedIn had populated the location as 'Stevenage, England' from my profile and company page. However we can quite readily deliver our services online, so I also ticked the 'I am available to work remotely' box.

Client requests; I chose to allow LinkedIn Members that I am not connected with, to message me for free.

And finally, Visibility; Which I set to 'Anyone'.

That's it - please click 'Save' to publish, or you'll lose this work.

There you go, it's quite easy, low maintenance, and probably waiting for you to complete, what's not to like. Especially as this compliments LinkedIn's Company Pages, Showcase Pages, and Product Pages, and I believe will be serving as bottom-of-funnel content.
