Getting found on Linkedin can be the key to many positive things. For some it could be new business for others it could be the right job offer.
Here are 7 tips to get found on LinkedIn not just on 'LinkedIn search' but also 'Google search'
- Maximise your Public Profile. If you want to be found in Google and other searches you need to make your profile as public as possible to allow the search engines to see it. Check your LinkedIn public profile settings to ensure all the relevant parts of your profile are public - that all of them!
- Complete your profile 100%. Complete every box you can. Linkedin will keep reminding you of information missing. Complete profiles turn up better in search. That includes adding a photo!
- Include keywords of your skills in your headlines, job titles and descriptions. If you are an Accountant who is an expert in Taxation and Capital Allowances ensure you use these words throughout headlines, job titles and descriptions. Warning - do not 'keyword stuff' meaning do not repeat the words over and over again to make it unreadable but use them throughout where relevant and to add more details. Tip include relevant keywords in bulleted lists.
- Join relevant groups. There are many good reasons to join relevant groups but as are listed on your profile it can put more relevant, searchable, text on your page. Google can see this!
- Connect to people...lots of people. The more people you are connected to then the more chance you have of being found in LinkedIn Search. Simple as that. Get connecting.
- Get recommended. More recommendations more chance of being found in LinkedIn search. Want more reommendations? 1. Ask for them. 2. Give more recommendations. Sure fire way to get more is give more. This applys to endorcements as well.
- Create inbound links to your profile. Put links to your Linkedin profile where ever you can especially other social networks and your website. Inbound links to you profile will help Google find it.
If you want to get started straight away and you found this post useful then why not connect to me and continue to build your LinkedIn network (point 5). If we are already connected why not leave me a recommendation or an endorcement (point 6).
