The LinkedIn Quarterly Advertising Monitor - July 2020
Another 3 months have passed. We are mid-year and this is the third edition of the LinkedIn Advertising Monitor.
Just as a reminder, I decided to keep track of a quarterly basis of the (suggested) advertising costs on LinkedIn. The goal is to track the cost to advertise to specific groups (Sales, Marketing, and Finance) at 3 levels (Belgium, Europe, and the USA) and thus give some insights into the advertising trends.
After the drop in Q2 due to Covid-19, we are not seeing a real trend yet other than
CPM is still going down with single digits around 10%
CPC is up by about 30%
InMails remain stable
Text ads remain stable except in the USA
New!
The targeting option menu has gotten some updates.
· The order of audience and audience attributes has been reversed
· LinkedIn introduced several other target audience options
- Lookalike audiences
- Third-Party audiences
- Video audiences
- Website (for retargeting)
New targeting criteria
Conversation Ads are still in Beta
The numbers
Remember, LinkedIn advertising, just like Facebook advertising, is an art and numbers can be lower!
The job posting for a marketeer increased to 17€/day which is a major jump of over25%
