Following and abiding to purpose, coupled by following and understanding rules and regulations (Do's and Dont's) is always something that holds true in the past, present, and future in everything that we do in life (personal and or professional).
Simple Definition of purpose
- : the reason why something is done or used : the aim or intention of something
- : the feeling of being determined to do or achieve something
- : the aim or goal of a person : what a person is trying to do, become, etc.
The evolution of social media is a beautiful thing, but we do find ourselves from time to time, steering off course and forgetting the main purpose of specific social media sights.
Social media has many platforms, which allow us the opportunity to express our thoughts, views, and opinions about many topics which affect us all. From my understanding - LinkedIn is a social network and online platform for professionals to share ideas, network, and to help one another out in the business world. Its mission is to connect the world's professionals to allow them to be more productive and successful. Its services are designed to promote economic opportunity for our members by enabling you and millions of other professionals to meet, exchange ideas, learn, and find opportunities or employees, work, and make decisions in a network of trusted relationships.
I see LinkedIn becoming more and more of a vessel (platform) that is steering off course because we have forgotten its "PURPOSE" and its "Do's and Dont's". This is totally suggestive, and I am sure I am speaking for many others besides myself. If you wish to express your political views and have political discussions to feel free to utilize the social media network for Politics called, "Brigade" - Link provided. If you wish to discuss all the other topics and items that are non-relative to the purpose of LinkedIn and politics, feel free to utilize Facebook.
Lets all get back to basics and use LinkedIn for its "PURPOSE - LinkedIn User Agreement link provided".

8 年Is it really a bad thing for people to do that? It allows you to have a peek at their inner workings unbeknownst to them. Unless I am mistaken, most larger companies/corporations have an HR staff where part of their job is (through the application process) perusing social media and googling their name. Whether LinkdIn, facebook, or otherwise... it's almost the perfect filter. Screen them before they even come through the door.
