#1: Optimize your LinkedIn Page for SEO
Maybe you didn't know it but your LinkedIn page is highly affected by SEO. Basically there is no difference from website SEO and your LinkedIn page SEO. Working on your Page’s SEO is to increase your odds of being found. This is not just by members using LinkedIn, but also on search engines.
Use Keywords - LinkedIn Pages are crawled by search engines. So get your website searchable you need to perform same keyword optimization as on website development or content creation.
Google display up to 156 characters of your page text in its search results, including relevant keywords at the very beginning of your company tagline.
Create a strong ‘About’ Section - Use relevant keywords, focus on to set answers on the questions your audience might have:
- Vision. What do you want to achieve in the future?
- Mission. How are we going to reach that future?
- Values. Who are we? What are our soft values?
- Positioning. What makes our brand different?
- Tagline. Our brand summed up in one line.
- Products/Services. Here’s our offer.
Use the website link - make sure your LinkedIn page has a link driving traffic to your website.
Then use your Logo - standard logo size for LinkedIn is 300 x 300 pixels. And of course a Banner image - size recommended is 1536 x 768

#2: Engage your employees
Your team members is the strongest asset for growth of page following. When you encourage them to spread the word with friends and colleagues who are interested in what you do the page growth becomes natural. The boost will you get as employees tag your Page in updates, and share with their networks the benefits of following your Page.
IMPORTANT! - All employees need to be properly mapped to your Page by accurately referring it in their work experience. Reason is that every time your employee makes a new connection on LinkedIn, the new connection will be prompted to follow your Page.

#3: Add a Follow button to your website
This simple addition can help turn your website visitors into LinkedIn Page followers. To compel action, you might include some messaging like, “If you enjoy our content here, you’ll love the stuff we share on LinkedIn.” Here’s an overview of how to add a Follow button to your company’s website.

#4: Use LinkedIn automation tools for network growth - or don't?
How nice wouldn't it be to have connection invites, endorsing connections, and viewing profiles all on automation. I mean think of how fast you could grow a huge network. And there are a lot of plugins and extensions that can do that. They can even perform bulk messaging, and downloading profiles and contacts for you. You will find most of these unofficial LinkedIn apps marketed as Google Chrome extensions, being an easy and cheap way to market a new software product.
And they actually works
For what do you need a bigger network?
It might seem to be a stupid question at first but really think of it, if you could choose between 10.000 connections of which 100 becomes your client or 1000 connections where 100 becomes your client, what would you choose. It is the same reasoning behind targeted traffic on a website.
LinkedIn may block your account
However if you would like to use such tool, you should be aware that those tools clearly violates the LinkedIn agreement.
But can't I just use it a bit - just a little?
Yes you can but it is on your own risk. If you violate the LinkedIn agreement you are likely to get a warning before they shut down your account. It do happens though without warning when LinkedIn consider violation to be severe.
If you decide to use such tools the main rules to follow relates to what LinkedIn keeps an eye on, as to explore "abnormal" behavior on your account, and especially related your network growth (connections and profile views).
- When connecting never exceed your LinkedIn range - 3.5-5% of your total connections.
- Never more than 100 profile visits per day – AND without sending connection And make sure those profile visits never requests more than 10% of the profiles you visit.
Advice
For LinkedIn Sales Navigator users, the daily limit is 500 profile views and up to 150 InMails per day. Growing an extensive network on LinkedIn is not enough. You need to take it to the next level if you want your network to result in business.
- If you still consider to use any of those tools make sure it is not on the black list.
- Check with your agency and make sure that the don't use any black listed tool or some that may be violating the LinkedIn agreement.

# 5. Use (@) Mention People in Your Posts
Using the LinkedIn @mention feature allows you to bring a connection or company into a conversation. It’s a useful tool to boost engagement, encourage interaction and share content.
You should use the function to notify your connections that your post or comment might be relevant to them. When using e.g. in your post or comment, the connections you mentioned are automatically associated with their profiles. This way readers clicking on a mention will navigate to their profiles.
How to mention someone in a post:
- Just Type "@" and then begin typing a name in the box. You'll see a list of potential people you can mention.
- Click on the name of the person or people you want to mention from the list and continue typing your message.
Remarks
- LinkedIn members will not receive a notification about the mention if they have turned off this notification setting.
- LinkedIn members don't need to be your connection in order to mention you or be mentioned by you.
- The Mentions feature is not available for articles published on the LinkedIn publishing platform.
We’ve all seen it, a post containing a long list of names which is not only boring for the reader but a little disrespectful to those mentioned. This isn’t spam but it’s irritating.
Be careful and try to think about when to use the @mention feature. And is it interesting for the ones you mention?

# 6. Add a Page link to your email signature
When sending an email from you as being a person/ function you should of course make it easy for them to check out who you are. You would probably do it yourself if it was an email that interested you, wouldn't you?
How to link to your profile
It works the same on basically every program you are using - I'll show on Outlook.
- Enter edit signature on Outlook
- Paste your image you want to use
- Enter your LinkedIn public profile and copy the link to your profile
- Go back to Outlook and add the link to the image.

How to choose engaging topics
When you are short of ideas you can use the LinkedIn Content Suggestion. It is a function inbuilt in LinkedIn that gives you as an admins to discover and share content that their member community is engaging with. This feature creates an easy way for admins to engage with their target audience.
To access and use the Content Suggestions feature of your Page:

- Click the Content Suggestions tab in the top navigation bar.
- On the left side, filter content by Audience size, Industry, Location, Job function, or Seniority.
- Note: At least one filter must be selected to receive suggested content. You can use multiple filters, but the estimated audience must stay above 300 members. Suggestions within each filter are based on your Page visitors.
- In the top section of the Page, you can select a pre-populated topic or add one to target your suggestions further.

#8. Use hashtags when joining topic conversations
When commenting try to use 3-5 RELEVANT hashtags in your posts. This way you tell LinkedIn algorithm to what community your comment may be of interest. If your hashtags are relevant chances increase to show up in their feed.
Also, when you associate your LinkedIn Page make sure to use relevant hashtags. This is also something LinkedIn reflects when the algorithms try to understand the relevance of you reactions or comments on conversations. What is interesting for LinkedIn is the relevance from the perspective of your organization, further exposing your brand name to new, relevant audiences.
