Ever felt like you're drowning in a sea of LinkedIn notifications, updates, and features, unsure of which direction to swim? You're not alone, as lately, it's the topic of many conversations that I have.
People with all different levels of experience using LinkedIn appear to have lost their spark. The pace of changes, conflicting advice and the volume at which it comes is turning people off a task that was once enjoyable.
Your B2B employees will be experiencing this at different levels too. People once motivated to be active could have dropped off, and others never seem to get started, no matter how much encouragement you give.
The good news is that there's a lifeline for B2B teams seeking clarity and success.
Simplification is the Key to Mastery
Almost two years ago, Tuomo Vauhkonen was my expert guest on my Social Media for B2B Growth Podcast . The topic - "High-Performance Business Owners". There was something in that conversation that stuck with me to this day. It was the concept that simplification is the key to mastery.
He shared that we often try to do more, be more, and spread ourselves too thin. We have been conditioned to believe that mastery comes from adding more and more. Making things far more complex than they have to be.
?It was like a lightning bolt hit me in that conversation. The answer was to do fewer things at a much higher standard. So began my journey of being the best I can be at those things I choose are best to grow my business.

Overwhelm is Paralysing
I was watching TV, and the image "The Bull - Pablo Picasso" was shown. A series of images that move from realism back to abstraction. I'm no art expert, but it really struck me how much we can strip things back and simplify them, and it can still be effective.

When people are overwhelmed by information, they can't take action, and that is the last thing as a LinkedIn Coach that I ever want. Over time I've learned that my effectiveness as a LinkedIn trainer doesn't come from bombarding people with all of my LinkedIn knowledge but rather from being able to discern where the most effective use of time and resources will be for B2B businesses on LinkedIn and sharing the best practices around that.

1 年Exactly! Doing less at a higher quality will often pay off more than doing more at a lower quality. It all comes back to what Phillip Vo once told me- don't confuse movement with progress. Granted, he was talking about taking the long way vs being stuck at traffic lights, but the point still stands.

1 年Crazy how doing less is so scary, but it's what leads to the best results :) Michelle J Raymond I have to say that when we start out it's necessary for most of us to do all sorts of things. Only way we can have enough data to know what to remove ??
