One Year in Sheffield!

It’s hard to believe we’ve officially been in our Head Office for a full year this October! Sheffield, a hub for EdTech, has long been central to managing 60% of the nation’s school resources. Our time here has been filled with assemblies, parties, coffee mornings, and personal celebrations, all of which have fostered a strong sense of community among our team.

Fun fact: Sheffield boasts more trees than people—about seven trees for every person!

In this first year, we’ve produced an impressive 356 webinars and courses in our in-house studio, showcasing our commitment to delivering quality educational resources. As we look ahead, we’re excited to expand our offerings and continue making a positive impact in education.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey—here’s to another year of growth and innovation!

New Early Years Funding: A Blessing or a Curse?

Clare Stead, creator of the Oliiki app, delves into the implications of the new government funding for early years, describing it as both a remarkable opportunity and a considerable challenge. While nurseries are benefiting from packed waitlists and a chance to support babies as young as 9 months, the staffing crisis remains a major hurdle, limiting available spaces despite the new resources.

Clare highlights the importance of proactive planning and staff development to navigate these challenges. By engaging parents from the outset and investing in staff training, nurseries can create environments where babies thrive during their crucial first 1,000 days, ensuring long-term success for both children and staff.
