KCSIE 2023/24 Safeguarding Requirements.

Are you up to date with KCSIE 2023/24 safeguarding requirements??

The DfE recently updated Keeping children safe in education (KCSIE) for 2023/24, which sets out statutory safeguarding requirements for schools and colleges and comes into force on 1 September 2023.?

Whilst there are a number of updates, the major change relates to increased expectations and responsibilities regarding filtering and monitoring systems for IT. This is in response to the DfE filtering and monitoring standards, published earlier this year, which all schools and colleges should meet.?

To understand the latest KCSIE changes in more depth, we’ve developed a collection of webinars to help you ensure you’re fully up-to-speed with the latest statutory requirements for the new academic year. We’re also releasing separate webinars dedicated to the DfE filtering and monitoring standards and how they can be met in line with KCSIE 2023.?

ChatGPT and AI in education.

ChatGPT and AI in education: Good or bad??

ChatGPT is known as a large language model (LLM), or generative AI. It is, in essence, a prediction machine, generating the next word or mark of punctuation in a sentence based on its pre-training and the prompt you input.???

The possible uses – and misuses – of ChatGPT, have been the subject of numerous media reports. With several similar pieces of software in the pipeline, and an increase in the use of AI across daily routines, it’s important for schools to be aware of how technology is evolving; how these innovations are currently impacting education and the way that students learn and complete work; and how this landscape will continue to develop in the near future.?

It was for these reasons we worked with Gary Henderson, a cyber security expert with over 20 years’ experience working in education, to develop and deliver webinars on how AI is shifting learning in schools, and what leaders need to consider when ensuring that policies and training reflect the technology now available to pupils. He also developed webinars that explain the DfE stance on AI use in education, following their statement published earlier this year.?
