LinkedIn News You Should Know as a Marketer
LinkedIn has new content updates and earnings reports you need to know as a social media marketer.
The new content styles are for the new vertical video tab on the LinkedIn app, and the new video carousel for sideways scrolling in the newsfeed.
Microsoft's earnings report shares the company's financial growth, user growth, and content publication growth. Let's get to it!
1. LinkedIn User Content Publishing Grew 34% YoY
Users of the platform post 1.5 million content pieces per minute!
That's 2,160,000,000 LinkedIn publications every day.
Which is 15,120,000,000 posts on LinkedIn each week.
And 786,240,000,000 LinkedIn posts are published by users each year.
2. LinkedIn Launched Video Carousels in the Newsfeed
Since LinkedIn uploads are up 34% year over year, they have increased content delivery methods for users to view.
This includes an in-feed video carousel for sideways swiping. This doesn't mean for posting video carousels, this is for the platform to recommend content similar to how Instagram attempts to promote Threads content within the IG feed - by giving content you may enjoy in a single post slot in your feed with the ability to swipe for more similar content.
3. LinkedIn Short Form Vertical Video Tab on the App
What can I say that you don't already know? We are addicted to doom scrolling. Our attention span on social media has been trained to swipe fast and swipe often.
Can we really blame LinkedIn for joining the vertical video style?
We may see LinkedIn, the last true social media platform we use for value instead of desensitized entertainment, transition into an entirely new content delivery and consumption platform. I actually love it!
