Can you share some good practices of sending invitations on LinkedIn?
Firstly, when you meet an exciting person, send an invitation to connect on the first day of your acquaintance to keep the memory of you still fresh. This way, the context of your invitation is clear, and there is no need for a personalized invite. If you see an interesting person on LinkedIn?–?create a personalized message telling why you want to connect.
Why is mastering networking on LinkedIn so important?
The more connections you have on LinkedIn,?the easier it is to reach other people. So boost your network with your industry leaders and innovators to receive more relevant information on your LinkedIn feed. However, you can be locked in an algorithmic bubble. Therefore, connecting with people with diverse political outlooks or just different-minded individuals is essential. The right network also allows you to be seen and can?be beneficial for your future projects or work.
What are the main steps of creating your network on LinkedIn?
- 5-10 minutes a day on LinkedIn can bring significant value to your network. It does not have to be strategic – you can connect with people you find interesting.
- Decide what people you want to have in your network, and then aim to connect with those of a similar age or professional level. Some say that today's professional world is horizontal, meaning that were moving to deepen our skills, and not vertical, where we would aim to get a promotion. So, the young project manager you connect with today can become a CEO in a year or two.
- Follow relevant, worldwide companies and influencers that refer to your desired industry.?
- Optimize your LinkedIn profile. Let others know who you are, what you are interested in.
