LinkedIn is more

I’m on my way home.

Spending the weekend away with my wife gave us a chance to reconnect. A chance to let the world around us slip away if for only just a few days.

As we take the long road trip back home, I’m given the opportunity to reflect on a great many things.

In my mind I’m thinking about #LinkedIn and what it provides me. And us as a community. 

What can I say? What is it about this social media and networking service that is so special? 

I think that we all needed it so badly. The world seemed to start spinning out of control in late 2016 and we all needed a gathering place to express our goals and dreams. Not like Facebook, not like Twitter. Something that showcased another side of who we are collectively as a people. Another side that proved we were so much more than GIF’a or Memes, or regurgitated storylines that didn’t quite fit.

We’ve witnessed an outpouring of next-level talent from not so obvious sources. LinkedIn has given us a safe, consistent soapbox to scream at the top of our lungs.. “I AM MORE!”

I love this platform. If I could sum it all up. To me:

“LinkedIn is more. It’s the community for the intellectual. The professional. The creative. The human.”
