?? LinkedIn, mentors, and pet heroes

Good morning; I hope all is well in your world.

My new house purchase is moving along pretty smoothly. I only viewed the property six weeks ago, and we're on track to exchange next week!

Neither of us are in a chain, but my old flat in Brighton took four months to buy, so this is fast by any standards.

Although the seller doesn't want to complete until the 1st of August, I'm already looking at utilities, flooring, radiators, paint, beds, lights and sofas.

While some of this is exciting and fun, it's also quite boring and stressful... especially when looking at my budget spreadsheet! ??

It will all be worth it when me and Monty move into our new home, though.

THREE THINGS FOR YOU

1) Use LinkedIn strategically

It’s fab to connect with other Virtual Assistants and share tips, but make sure your LinkedIn isn’t just a loop of VAs chatting to VAs.

Your LinkedIn reach only goes so far, and if your posts are only being shown to people who aren't going to hire you, you're wasting a lot of billable time and energy.

Instead, connect and engage with people and businesses that could really use your help.

Your target audience.

Show off what you can do and get your skills in front of the right eyes (people who want to hire you!) to ensure your LinkedIn reach is used efficiently.

Your connections should include potential clients, industry influencers, and other professionals who can provide new opportunities or insights.

I have a post on how to create a VA marketing strategy if you need help developing a more effective approach.

2) Tribe of Mentors

One of the All Stars asked for business book recommendations yesterday, and I mentioned that my go-to is Tim Ferris's Tribe of Mentors. ??

The book is a collection of advice from over 130 successful people from various fields. It covers topics such as personal habits, productivity tips, and life lessons and is an absolute goldmine of information.

Tools of Titans is also brilliant, but Tribe of Mentors is a must-have.

I always advise my trainees to read business books because learning from successful people builds knowledge and provides inspiration and practical strategies you can apply to your own life and business.

Without a shadow of a doubt, reading books has helped me acquire a business-owner mindset far quicker (and with less cost) than anything else.

3) A handy AI prompt for your clients

Here's a handy prompt to develop a customer feedback system for your clients:

"I need assistance in developing an effective customer feedback system. The goal is to gather actionable insights that can help improve our services and products. Please suggest methods and tools for collecting and analysing customer feedback, ensuring ease of use for customers and actionable data output for our team."

Don't wait for clients to give you work; suggest things you can do and fill up your diary!

My VA All Stars membership group has access to dozens of prompts like this. If you're a working Virtual Assistant with two or more clients, you can join for just £5 a month. ?

With no minimum contract, you can join and leave as it suits you, all while having access to a shedload of resources, events, videos, and other valuable VA tools.

Note: The group has now reached over 200 members, so I'll be capping numbers later this year to keep it small and intimate.

I'll also raise the price, but if you join now at £5 p/m and maintain your subscription, you will always pay that amount even after the price goes up.

??? UPCOMING GROUP COACHING DATES

Whether it's pricing, niches, LinkedIn, content writing, AI, client consultations, services, websites, marketing or even how and where to start your VA journey, whatever problem you're overthinking, book a coaching session and let's chat.

Today's session is fully booked, but the next one is on the 18th of July, and there are a couple of dates in August as well.

"I had a fabulous group coaching session with Jo. It has given me the much-needed kick up the butt to push even harder and ditch the terrifying imposter syndrome whilst working on my own business. I can’t recommend these intimate, small and very personal sessions enough to get things going in the right direction." Lisa N

With only four places available for each coaching session, you should book quickly to secure your place. ?

?? MY FAVOURITE THING THIS WEEK

These pet heroes

If you're an animal lover, these stories of people who adopt last-chance pets – animals who wait for many months to find new homes or live out their final days in shelters - will warm your heart. ??

“The advice I always have if you want to make your life better? Realise that it’s not about you. The people I have seen who are most unhappy think everything is about them. Once you realise that almost everything isn’t, which is what these dogs have taught me, life is so good.”

Okay, that's it for this week, but whether you're looking to set up your own business or you're already a hotshot Virtual Assistant with a stable of clients, I have a ton of guides, downloads, templates, checklists and courses to help you get where you want to go.
