Writing LinkedIn Articles Build Your Influence
LinkedIn enables professionals to share their expertise and build personal brand growth.
I write LinkedIn Articles as they give me the opportunity to showcase my expertise but also create connections and build trust with leads/potential clients.
They learn to understand my skills and how I can help them.
No special formatting or tags for better search result rankings unlike WordPress blogs.
All you require is an author headline, image thumbnail, and title tag so readers can identify the author before reading further.
Here is a screenshot to show you how my details appear at the top of LinkedIn articles.
Writing articles published on LinkedIn’s platform is an excellent strategy to position your expertise and authority.
It enhances your visibility on LinkedIn and boosts your organic traffic and can generate leads if tailored for the right audience/your potential customers.
Moreover, these articles can be shared across all social media platforms including X / Twitter /Facebook, Pinterest and LinkedIn itself for increased reach. On X/Twitter I use threads which can be connected to a call to action about your article.
LinkedIn is a high-ranking site to help your content be found on Google which is another benefit of creating LinkedIn content.
“Your LinkedIn profile is your digital introduction. Make it count".
- Brenda Bernstein
LinkedIn Sharing
One effective strategy is to encourage your colleagues , business partners , to share their knowledge , contributing blog posts, articles, and participate in relevant LinkedIn groups.
- Show appreciation for sharing their expertise and help make these business connections stronger.
- Provide access to resources that will help them market on LinkedIn with more skill to help them grow their reach.
- Create Podcast, write blogs to promote and cross promote your business and your colleagues and business partners.
- Can you thank your business partners and customers who support your content to grow your business relationship further?
- Have you a plan of when and how you promote your content and business partners at times that will work for both of you and your audience and not just on LinkedIn?
- Have you a colleague/ business partners who have strong social media skills , an engaged audience that you can help and will help you grow and scale your LinkedIn marketing and social media
The aim of creating content is to make it easy to be found, and discoverable for your target audience.
Use relevant tags and keywords so people searching for these topics can find you on LinkedIn. This will also help others discover your content when searching within the platform itself.
LinkedIn Collaborator articles rank on Google have you considered seeing what gets the most traction.
I am a Top Writing Voice on LinkedIn. I would recommend that you think about what is most helpful for your audience right now . Be mindful LinkedIn keeps changing so keep yourself up to date. That is one of the reasons I am a LinkedIn Insider.

Being active on LinkedIn.
LinkedIn is not just a platform for showcasing your professional profile, it is also a place to engage, connect and converse. Being active on LinkedIn opens doors to new opportunities and relationships.
- Do not be a silent observer: Take part in conversations and build quality relationships and network
- Make your presence felt: Share your expertise to help others, ask questions, leave thoughtful comments on posts or in groups.
- Broaden Your Network: Follow professionals within your industry
- Engage Outside LinkedIn: Extend the conversation to other platforms like Twitter or Facebook. As many of your LinkedIn network are on multiple platforms
Every conversation is an opportunity for potential clients to learn more about you and what you offer. It gives you an opportunity to show other LinkedIn members how valuable you could be to them.
So do not just exist on LinkedIn - be live on it! Be active, get involved in the discussions happening around you and create meaningful relationships with those who matter most. Success there starts with being part of the LinkedIn community!
"LinkedIn is not just a platform for finding a job. It's a platform for building your career and achieving your goals".
- Bernard Marr
Be strategic
Know Your Goals: Begin by identifying what you want to try to achieve. Who do you want to connect with, who you can help or who can help you achieve your goals.
Impress your profile visitors: with an organised profile that clearly communicates who you are and what you represent. A well-thought out profile can attract loyal followers and boost organic traffic.
Create Engaging Content: Quality content is vital in attracting and retaining followers. Research, create, and post content that resonates with your target audience while aligning with your long-term goals.
Invest Time in Networking: Interact with your followers and influencers on LinkedIn to build relationships. Follow them, share their posts, comment on their articles - all these actions contribute to increased engagement.
LinkedIn Marketing: Takes time, effort, and strategies to help you create business success.
Who do you want to connect with to grow your business?
Identify Potential Business Relationships.
Look for companies that align with your business values and goals.
Connect with employees within these organizations. They could be potential customers or refer you to valuable opportunities.
-Utilize boolean search functions on LinkedIn to find these individuals easily.
Here are some quick tips for using Boolean search:
- Use AND to narrow your search (e.g., marketing AND sales)
- Use OR to broaden your search (e.g., marketing OR sales)
- Use NOT to exclude certain terms (e.g., marketing NOT sales)
- Quotation marks (" ") help you find exact phrases (e.g., "digital marketing")
- Parentheses (() ) enable complex searches (e.g., manager AND (marketing OR sales))
Engage with Industry Influencers and Companies
Follow industry leaders and companies closely aligned with your field.
Learn from their content, engage in discussions, and comment on their posts.
You can effectively expand your network, gain industry insights, and build beneficial business relationships.
Remember, it is not just about who you know but also about who knows you!
Final tip
A last piece of advice is about using online tools to identify key influencers within your industry.
Once these influencers have been identified, do not hesitate to reach out directly via private message or email – this can be an introduction to valuable relationships that can be developed to create new business.
