We recently enjoyed a Hawaiian-themed family picnic with our team and their families at the Frisco RoughRiders Field. September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and because workers in construction have one of the highest suicide rates compared to other industries, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is urging employers to discuss suicide prevention efforts and help raise awareness. Our Director of Safety, Brian Webster, will be hosting safety standdowns across our job sites this entire month to bring this topic out in the open and top of mind. These conversations can be awkward to have, but simply sharing facts and available resources for help is much needed. We are terribly sad to share the news that our friend and employee, Buddy Brumley, passed away on Sunday. It’s difficult to articulate the scale of this loss, not just to his family and all of us at Skiles Group, but to scores of others in our industry community. If we had to pick one word to describe him, it would be "dedicated." Buddy was a selfless servant leader who was tirelessly supportive, loyal, patient, and kind—completely dedicated to his company, profession, and people. We’re a better construction company because of him, and he is irreplaceable. We’ll share funeral details when we learn them; in the meantime, we welcome you to share your memories and stories in the comments.

Peterson Health has recently finished construction on their new three-story, 43,300 SF ambulatory surgery center (ASC) complex. The facility includes four operating rooms and four endoscopy rooms, effectively doubling their capacity to accommodate the high demand for outpatient surgical services. The second floor houses medical offices and a modern conference space, while the third floor has shell space available for future expansion to serve the needs of the local community. Seamlessly integrated into their scenic campus, the complex features a welcoming, expansive canopy, stone facades that reflect the charm of the Hill Country, and abundant glazing to flood the interior with natural light. Sleek metal panels contribute to the building's sophisticated and technologically advanced design.
