Did you know...

  • LinkedIn now boasts a whopping 500million users - 250million of whom are active every single month.
  • It’s hands down the #1 channel for B2B marketers, with 80% of B2B leads that originate from social media, coming from LinkedIn.

This doesn’t mean you should rule it out if you’re serving B2C. With that user volume, you can still get incredible results if you’ve got an interesting offering. I've got e-commerce clients that are getting great traction (this is especially the case if you have great product imagery to share).

But here’s the thing that should really make you sit up and take notice:

Only 1% of LinkedIn users are sharing posts!

Which means there’s less competition than there is on the likes of Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube.

And with everyone from big brands right through to startups on LinkedIn, there’s a huge opportunity for you to leverage right now.

They want you to post content - and the algorithm will reward those who do by helping them get reach, engagement and followers.

Stick to this simple process:

  • Create quality content - this helps you to create awareness and establish your authority.
  • Reach out - some leads are going to come to you, but you should also be proactively outreaching. Use Sales Navigator to filter down by industries and job title to find your perfect customers.
  • Build relationships - it’s not just about posting content. Engage with others, read their profiles, comment on their posts.

N is for Networking

Honestly, networking was one of the best things that happened to me when I set up my consultancy business.

You'll find that networking is a fantastic way to meet others so you can collaborate, support each other, get referrals and have fun. It's a great way to build confidence too.

Working on your own can otherwise be lonely. Networking brings human connection and we all want to feel part of something bigger than just ourselves.

Inspired by the brilliant book 'Give and Take' by Adam Grant I'm running a networking session focused on giving!

  • Turn up ready to help and give
  • Don't be surprised when you end up getting the help you need!
  • This is a chance for us to show up, share, add value and help others.

Also, come with your one ask - how can the others in this session help you?

We'll be networking and sharing thoughts in breakout networking session all about giving.

Going to be fun and we'd love to see you there!

Have a great week,
