LinkedIn Jobs on the Rise 2025: The fastest-growing roles in Europe's capitals

Today we unveil our annual Jobs on the Rise Cities list, a data-backed ranking of the fastest-growing jobs over the past three years in Europe's capital cities.

Whether it’s the boom in artificial intelligence (AI) roles or the rebound of travel jobs, the ranking reveals sectors with sustainable growth locally in today’s evolving world of work. While the metrics used are the same as our Jobs on the Rise list, the methodology differs slightly, reflecting activity at local city level instead of the country (you can read more at the bottom of this article).?

The list is a roadmap that can point you in the right direction at any stage of your career. Under each job title, you can explore the most common skills, top industries, remote and hybrid availability and more. You can turn those insights into action by exploring open roles or honing your skills through LinkedIn Learning courses (free for all members until 15 Feb).??

List Methodology

LinkedIn Economic Graph researchers examined millions of jobs started by LinkedIn members from January 1, 2022 to July 31, 2024 to calculate a growth rate for each job title. To be ranked, a job title needed to see positive growth across our membership base and sufficient job postings in the past year, as well as have grown to a meaningful size by 2024. Identical job titles across different seniority levels were grouped and ranked together. Internships, volunteer positions, interim roles and student roles were excluded, and jobs where hiring was dominated by a small handful of companies in each city were also excluded.?

Job Insights?

Additional data points for each of the job titles are based on LinkedIn profiles of members holding the title and/or open jobs for that title in the city. Some data points were not available for every city.

Remote and hybrid job availability is based on jobs posted from November 2023 to November 2024 flagged as “remote” or “hybrid” by the poster or containing similar keywords. For Bern, this data was not available. Most common skills were derived from the top skills most unique to each title among members who have ever held that title on LinkedIn. Most common industries are based on the industry of the companies that hired the highest number of members for each job from January 1, 2024 to October 31, 2024. Gender breakdown was calculated by measuring the number of members by identified gender currently in each job (provided there was meaningful gender data) as a percentage of the total members with known gender per job.?

Fascinating to see how the job market is evolving! Alongside these emerging roles, there's a noticeable rise in companies tapping into fractional leadership. As a Fractional CMO, I’m seeing more brands—especially startups and SMEs—seek senior marketing expertise without the need for a full-time hire. It’s a win-win—expertise on demand and agile growth. Curious if others are noticing this trend too?

Ups, is this content that was directly copy pasted from AI? I doubt that Aircraft Engineering is the top 1 workplace with open jobs in London. Two clicls confirmed this: 9 open positions - most of them not in London - whereas the the 2nd ranking job has 29 job openings in London.
