LinkedIn have Removed Tags from Sales Navigator
LinkedIn have removed 'Tags' from Sales Navigator package, 'Tag Sunset they called it'. Ah, how sweet; a bit like telling somebody what a lovely person they are before you stuff it to them. I asked them not to but in the time honoured arrogance of computer software companies they took no notice whatsoever of their users. And the result? When I look at the profiles of my connections and potential connections I can no longer see:
1: If I have invited you to connect. C'on LinkedIn is that not absolutely fundamental to the objectives of LinkedIn as a whole, never mind a package purporting to be for sales people.
2: If I invited a connection or the other way around.
2: If I have thanked you for connecting.
3: If I have sent you a copy of our 'Schedule of Courses'.
3: If I have invited you to join my group 'Technical Training for IT Professionals'.
4: If I have thanked you for joining and welcomed you to the group.
5: If I have thanked you for 'following' Verhoef Training and sent you details of the discount we offer our followers.
Instead I have to add your profile to separate search lists. Then, when I look at your profile I have to cross reference your name on 5 separate searches and make notes in a spreadsheet or a piece of paper to the effect above. Have you ever heard such crap in all your life, LinkedIn please take notice!
Improve the Tags function by all means. Make the ones you have applied visible on a connections profile rather that just seeing the Tags you have not applied applied. That should satisfy toy lust for change but please reinstate them and make them better. They were one of the really good things about The Sales Navigator Package.
Or does this pave the way for additional charges for something Key to the Sales navigator Package. I'll bet that's the answer.

4 年Thanks for liking this, lads. Now George, Colin and Michael, have I sent you each a schedule? I'm not sure. So I will close your profile because there's no point looking there anymore and I'll load up a search list. Ah, problem number 1: The tags have all gone so what do I search for? I can no longer search for 'TAG: 2020 Schedule Sent' because tags don't exist any more. But when I do figure it out I will trawl through the list to see if your names are on it. If they aren't then I'll make a note on a piece of paper, close the search list, reopen your profiles and send one to you. Then, in 3 months time when I've forgotten who you are I can go through the process all over again. What an extraordinary decision for LinkedIn to make. If my old sales manager caught me not recording the details of communications I have had with my prospects then, quite justifiably, I would have been sent straight to the naughty step without any supper.
