Profile Creation Strategy

Profile Picture Creation

People are visual. So making sure you leave a good impression on the first “digital encounter” is one of the important things to pay attention to.

Statistically you don't have to have a “professional” studio headshot in order to look professional.

But based on data we found that “headshot” profile pictures work better than “full body” or “scenic” ones.

People love to connect with people. So let them memorize your face.

If you still wish to “up” your game when it comes to profile pictures we recommend getting familiar with using “Midjourney” or other AI image generators to aid you in your creation of aesthetic backgrounds to fit your headshots in.

Banner Design

The banner is the first place where the human eye gravitates towards after opening your LinkedIn profile.

Having good design skills certainly helps with this task, but it is not mandatory. You can create an amazing banner with just a “Canva Free Plan”.

Why?

Because a good banner conveys a message that is:

  • Simple
  • Clear
  • Actionable

If you cannot find these qualities in a banner, You are probably doing it wrong.

The banner should simply, clearly & actionably tell the viewer:

  • What is it that you provide to them?
  • What should they do next?
  • Establish a brand authority

On LinkedIn we use this to capture the viewer's attention and direct them to our “about you” section of your profile.

& now take a look at some of the banner designs that we think masterfully did their job:

Headline/About you section

“FINALLY I get to speak about myself”

well, think again

when you are building your “About You” section.

Whether you are a content creator/service provider/business owner or just looking for a job…

You should always write as if you are “soft” pitching someone. But remember the key word here is “soft” & NOT “pitching”. Not Selling.

Very Important.

Let's start with the headline.

This is what captures the readers attention right after the banner.

This is where a person “seeks” a bit more clarification of what they saw on the banner & Learns a bit more about you.

We encourage people who are new to all of this to use this simple formula to convey what they do!

(The dream outcome they provide x the likelihood of them fulfilling their promise/the time it takes to get results x the entry barrier)

Sounds complicated?

It's easier than you think

Here are some killer headlines:

  • “I helped 30+ SMB-s scale over $1M In Revenue in Under a Year & They worked less than 6h a day on It!”

  • “25+ Brands Increased their Pipeline Value by 5x under 3 month Completely on Autopilot With Us”

?

Funnel Structuring

Just like every successful social media account, we have to build it in a way it makes it as easy as possible for the viewer to convert.

The structure/flow we recommend you try to establish on your profile would be the following:

  • Optimized profile picture/ headline text combo
  • Brandable simple banner with directions (Preferably to the about you section)
  • About you section(Using the copywriting models AIDA/PAS)
  • Links Section (calendar booking link +? website Link)

Social Proof Building

Recommendation Section

The recommendation section is your best friend when it comes to ensuring people you are good at what you do!?

If you are an experienced veteran in your industry make sure to ask your colleagues to leave a positive recommendation about you.?

Leave one for them too! Reciprocity goes a long way!

Studies have shown that if you leave a recommendation to someone & then ask for one they are 3 times more likely to do so!

If you are New to the industry & don't really have a portfolio yet. Invest some time into building one.

And yes that might mean you need to work for free a little bit. But we can assure you that the social proof & you get in exchange for your service in that brief period of time is worth it!

And that is how you build a legitimate long lasting network too!

Service Page

We want to touch on this just briefly. Although Not many people use or convert through the LinkedIn Service page feature, it can be a POWERFUL social proof tool.

Think of it as a review system but exclusively on LinkedIn.

Just as your recommendation section, Invest some time into building a good review rating. It does not hurt a potential customer seeing your 4-5 star reviews.

Staying Genuine

And last but not least before we move on to “content creation strategies” we want to mention how important it is to be authentic.

Throughout your social media journey you might be tempted to use:

  • 3rd Party automations for commenting
  • Automated engagement pods
  • Follow 4 follow strategies

But keep in mind that those are “vanity” Strategies. LinkedIn is against those strategies and is actively restricting accounts who keep abusing them.

It is much easier to get “shadow banned” Than on other platforms.

So stay genuine, authentic and your time to shine will come!

Content Creation Strategies

Finding Inspiration

Writing/Filming Content is tough. Especially when you see all the gurus saying how you need to post “at least once a day”.

I mean, who has that many good ideas to write about?

But don't be worried. You see, not everything you write is supposed to be “yours”.

It should be authentic and Unique yes.

But does not have to be “yours”

Nothing is stopping you from:

  • Watching a podcast
  • Reading a book
  • Connecting with someone's story

You can extract 2-3 Thoughts from these actions and build upon them.

This is a process that is unique to every single content creator & it takes some time to get adjusted and find your way of coming up with interesting content to share!

Writing Styles

Before we close out this article with a motivational message we want to give you one last tip.

Explore writing styles & formatting. Test things out.

And no we don't mean to do a bunch of random stuff…

We mean, learn from what others are doing and what you see works!

That does not mean blatantly copying their post.?

Here is what we are trying to say here:

  • Don't steal content, steal the way someone formats their post.
  • Don't steal an Idea, steal the angle they are using to write about the idea.

Everything you need to know about starting out has been served here! We wish you the best of luck and an amazing rest of the month of May.

Yours truly,

Furlough.

Let’s go!!!!!
