Linkedin is not Facebook

Why MJ? Because in my "previous life" I've been also a basketball coach! -:)
Recently on Linkedin some of us are posting that Linkedin is not like Facebook. These comments and posts are collecting hundreds of likes, comments, shares in agreement with. The complainers are saying "... Please stop ruining the integrity of LinkedIn. Hashtags, your Starbucks coffee, and Selfie should be immediately replaced with your resume, networking opportunities and business ideology..., Please keep professional...". I personally think that we all should maintain Linkedin not only at the level of a professional social community but even at what I call "a good level of cultural exchanges among professionals". And I'm not talking about technology, digital, internet, marketing, IoT/IoE, etc.. No, I'm talking about people mind, attitudes and human life: people because women and men. What I mean is that also people working as professional, at the end of the story (or better, at the beginning of the story), are people, are human, are person and not only professionals but also professional. So I partially disagree when the complainers are suggesting to post and comment "only" about professional things and topics. The beauty, the happiness, the dreams, the literature, the history, the poetry, the landscape, the arts, the curiosity, etc.etc. are meaningful for people and sometimes should be right to show them also on Linkedin. When the posts are concerning coaching, leadership, mentoring, art, etc. ... in the cultural sense, I personally do not believe they should stay away from a professional network (i.e. Linkedin). For us, even if professionals, it is matter to realize for example, how much "diseases" are in place because of a continuos connected life: from everywhere and using plenty of tools. Sometimes is necessary (and to be pursued) to seat down and to read a good book, to look at the wonderful landscape, to talk with neighbors, colleagues and family, to think to the sense of the life. And when we have something to say or to forward from some interesting source, I think good to do it also on Linkedin. Even if we are professionals, we need to smile, to understand, to listen people, giving sense to our and their life. In few words to pursue " the usefulness of useless". We need to help people and ourselves to progress, not because of technology (only), but because of humanity sense. Said that, obviously Linkedin is different and must be maintained different from Facebook, but, in my opinion, considering what above.

8 年Sono d'accordo, le persone sono e devono essere rappresentate anche per le loro passioni e dopo tutto non è stata introdotta una chat.
