Linkedin Error 1-2-1

Has anyone else been trapped in LinkedIn lockdown? This happened to me: First, I sent invitations to five new potential connections and then I used Message function to write brief notes expressing my wishes for good health and safety to ten people in my existing network. And then suddenly, my home page was replaced with an error message “LINKEDIN ERROR 1-2-1.” I made many attempts to log in again but I was locked out and locked down!
After the initial shock of my new LinkedIn jail status wore off, I researched my plight but the only result found was: “LinkedIn detected an abnormally high volume of activity on the account.” Unlike many technical snafu’s there are no instructions about how to resolve this issue. In fact, the only information available was from another Error 1-2-1 victim: “Try not to do anything that causes Error 1-2-1 because it’s very hard to resolve.” Yeah, thanks.
Thankfully, my detainment was temporary. After an hour of telling nobody in particular, “I didn’t do anything wrong! I’m innocent I tell ya.” I was suddenly able to log back in. I had somehow been absolved and released. On my own recognizance. No future court date. As if no crime had been committed.
Some time has passed and still I wonder why this happened. It’s not like I was generating a stadium-full of new connections. BTW, the word “stadium” pre-dates social distancing so if you don’t remember what that is, search it and let’s hope you’re more successful in finding an answer than I was with ERROR 1-2-1.

4 年I never had this happen to me. I wonder if this is an attempt to stop some of the scammers on here -- and a flurry of activity may indicate that! Thanks for the heads up!

4 年Interesting article. I haven't heard of this Linkedin error before but I can imagine the panic that set in once you received the error message. I'm glad you didn't have to stay in prison too long.
