The quick answer is, NO. It is just changing. LinkedIn is the modern day yellow pages. I recently had a discussion with a colleague regarding leveraging LinkedIn to connect and network with potential prospects. A recent question that kept coming up in conversation was, is LinkedIn dying? Below are three tips to engaging with potential prospects and actually getting a response.
Attract
How many jobs or business segments have you changed since you created your LinkedIn profile? If you are looking to attract your ideal prospect without making thousands of calls consider refreshing your audience that you are building? Focus on who you are looking to help in your industry and more specifically in their business.
Influence
Look to demonstrate influence and building trust by sharing relevant information that helps the person in that specific business segment.
Convert
When connecting with your prospect, be sure to take it offline to discuss how you can support their business needs and focus on solving their needs and their unconsidered needs.
Be Kind.
Be Honest.
Be a problem solver.
