LinkedIn Content Strategy: Quick Exercise for Growth

Ask yourself this question before you publish your next LinkedIn post: Why do you post on LinkedIn? If you have trouble coming up with a response, it may be time to review your content strategy.

"But wait," you may be thinking, "I simply don't have a content strategy." You do, no matter if you realise it or not. Your present process of ideation, development, and sharing could serve as your content strategy. It is the approach you are using right now to communicate with your audience, whether consciously or unconsciously.

Exercise 1: Identify Your Current Strategy

Write down your present procedure for producing and publishing content on LinkedIn on a piece of paper. This will act as your starting point.

An effective content strategy, involves more than merely posting. It's a thorough strategy that specifies who your target market is. It responds to queries such as:

  1. What are their fears?
  2. Where in life are they?
  3. What are they seeking?

This level of comprehension of your audience enables you to produce content that really speaks to them.

Exercise 2: Identify Your Audience

Make a thorough persona of your target audience. Include their aspirations, circumstances as they are now, worries and desires.

Knowing your audience is not sufficient, though. Additionally, you need to learn how your content impacts consumers.

  1. Are you helping them with a problem?
  2. Do you add any value?
  3. Do you have a favourable impact?

Tip: Knowing all these things will boost your ideation and creation process make sure spend at least 15 min on each question.

Exercise 3: Evaluate Your Content

Review your earlier posts and see whether they provide value, address issues, or have a good effect. Make sure you also measure the engagement on your posts to see what worked and brought more views, likes, comments and shares.

Answers to these queries should be included in a comprehensive content strategy. It should outline your target market, how your content speaks to them, the fundamental issue you're addressing, and how to assess what your audience wants from you.

Exercise 4: Create Your Content Strategy

Create a new content strategy based on your understanding of your audience and your content. This should contain who your target audience is, how your content will effect them, what key problem you're tackling, and how you'll analyse what they want from you.?

If you're unclear about any of these points, it's time to rethink your strategy. Remember that having a well-defined content strategy is essential for effective LinkedIn posts. It's not only a matter of uploading content, it's also a matter of posting the correct content to the fitting audience.
