LinkedIn Connections – Quantity vs. Quality

?Helping Coaches Turn Connections into Clients with Proven LinkedIn Strategies. ? Optimize your profile. ? Build your authority. ? Generate consistent leads.
LinkedIn has fast become the go-to platform for business owners looking to increase the number of prospects, leads, clients, and revenues for their business. There can be no arguing the power of LinkedIn to grow a business, especially in the B2B sector.
This means that a growing network of connections becomes one of the main goals with the other being building long-term relationships for the benefit of your business.
I would like to focus on growing your network especially as there seems to be a growing number of posts claiming to have the simple ‘trick’ or ‘hack’ for growing your connections quickly.
I’m not going to claim they work or don’t work but would rather make some statements based on my own experience of building an 11,900+ network for my business and you can then decide if this makes sense for your business growth strategy.
Let’s consider the traditional method for networking where you attend a business networking meeting or event. The aim is to connect with people who are potential clients for what your business offers. This means you need to first understand who your ideal client is and then identify those who fit into that profile.
Does it then not make sense that whom you connect with on LinkedIn should be your ideal client as well? How do you identify your ideal client when your post asks others to like, comment ‘open to connecting’ and then connecting with everyone who comments? I will leave you to decide for yourself if this benefits your business.
With LinkedIn being a network of professionals, it makes sense that building relationships is the key to converting prospects, to leads, and then to clients. Do you agree? How are you building relationships by asking others to like, comment, and share a ‘hack’ for growing your network fast? I will once again leave you to decide if this benefits your business.
The last aspect of building relationships on LinkedIn I want to mention is that of sharing valuable content with your network. Building a relationship of trust requires sharing and adding value to your network. What value are you adding to your network asking for ‘likes, ‘comments’, and ‘shares’ to build a network fast? You decide how much value this adds to your network and business.
