Stay ahead of the curve or get left in the social media dust, simple as that!

??AI's taking over LinkedIn

Are You Prepared?

LinkedIn, that good ol' professional networking site, has realised that the future is now, and it's all about AI. In partnership with their parent company Microsoft, they've released a fancy new report on how AI is shaking up the workforce.

According to the report, a whopping 75% of global knowledge workers are now using AI tools in their regular work routine. That's right, three-quarters of us are letting robots do at least some of our jobs. Efficiency at its finest, or a dystopian nightmare? You decide.

Over half of these AI-users (53%, to be precise) are worried that relying too heavily on these fancy tools might make them look replaceable. You can't win in this game. Use AI, and you're essentially training your own replacement. Don't use it, and you're left in the digital stone age.

Now, before you start panicking and looking for a career change, let's take a deep breath. The report claims that AI is meant to assist us, not replace us entirely.

Sure, they might be able to streamline specific tasks, but they can't replicate good old human expertise.

Are you embracing AI?

??LinkedIn gets fancy with TV ads and live events?

The professional networking platform has recently launched its own connected TV (CTV) adverts and Live Event ads.

In a move that's equal parts savvy and slightly concerning, LinkedIn is now allowing companies to advertise directly on your television. That's right, no more mindlessly scrolling through your feed during commercial breaks. Now, you can be bombarded with targeted ads from brands who want to reach those ever-elusive "decision-makers."

LinkedIn has also introduced Live Event Ads; we guess virtual events just weren't cutting it anymore. Now, businesses can promote their live events before, during, and after they take place, ensuring that you never miss out on the opportunity to attend another webinar.

And why, is LinkedIn doing this??

Well, according to their data, the number of professionals viewing events on the platform has grown by a whopping 34% year-over-year.?

Of course, this whole endeavour is all about helping companies "reach the right people and deepen relationships by dynamically engaging with prospective buyers."?

LinkedIn is also partnering with NBCUniversal to introduce something called "LinkedIn Premiere," a fancy new managed offering that will allow users to target decision-makers across NBCUniversal's premium streaming content on CTV.?

According to Tunji Akintokun, LinkedIn UK's Head of Enterprise Solutions, "We're always considering new ways to reach engaged decision-makers across our community of one billion professionals on LinkedIn."?

Akintokun also added, "With only 5% of buyers in-market for a new purchase at any given time, it's imperative for companies to consistently engage their audience in creative ways across multiple channels – from live events to video ads – to ensure their brand is memorable when it's time to buy."

What do you think of these changes?

??LinkedIn gets playful with new in-stream games

In a move that might seem a tad unconventional for a professional networking platform, LinkedIn has officially launched its new in-stream games. These puzzles and trivia challenges are designed to give users a much-needed break from the grind of their workday.

After being spotted in testing back in March, the games have now been rolled out for all to enjoy. As LinkedIn explains, the goal is to "weave thinking-oriented games directly into the LinkedIn experience."

Now, before you start questioning whether this is a ploy to boost engagement numbers (because let's be honest, that's precisely what it is), LinkedIn insists that the games serve a higher purpose. They claim that these puzzles are meant to provide "a way to exercise their brains while taking a quick break" and "give people a reason to connect with others."

LinkedIn is launching three in-stream games to start with:

  1. Pinpoint: A word association game where you need to guess the common category of five words in a grid.
  2. Queens: A logic game where you fill the grid with queens, ensuring there's only one queen in every row, column, and region.
  3. Crossclimb: A trivia game that's essentially a combination of a crossword and a word ladder.

Each game will have a new edition updated daily, so you won't be able to spend too much time procrastinating (or so LinkedIn claims). And because what's a game without a little friendly competition, there will be scoreboards displaying your performance stats and ranking you against your connections, companies, schools, and more.

LinkedIn is adamant that these games will "spark banter, conversations, and even a healthy bit of competition among professionals around the world."?

So, while it might seem like a blatant ploy to increase time spent in the app (which, let's be real, it absolutely is), you can't fault LinkedIn for trying to inject a little fun into the workday.?

What do you think of these new features? There’s been some controversy surrounding these new games, so we’re interested to hear your thoughts!?

?? Latest LinkedIn tips

It wouldn’t be right to talk about LinkedIn and not include some tips!

LinkedIn has stepped up to provide a comprehensive overview of key strategies to help marketers maximise their campaigns using cutting-edge tools like AI, attribution, and advanced measurement techniques.

As the world of marketing continues to shift, traditional methods are becoming obsolete. The deprecation of cookie tracking has forced marketers to rethink their measurement approach, and with it comes opportunities to revamp entire strategies in alignment with advancing technologies.

LinkedIn's tips are a goldmine for B2B marketers looking to leverage the latest tools and trends.

So, let’s look at the highlights!?

  • Remember the good old days when you had to manually target and optimise your campaigns? Well, those days are long gone. LinkedIn suggests automating as much of the process as possible, leveraging AI to streamline targeting and refinement. After all, who wouldn't want to let algorithms do the heavy lifting.

  • Gone are the days of guessing which touchpoints contribute to sales. LinkedIn advises using attribution modelling to better understand the impact of your campaigns and allocate resources accordingly. Because let's face it, you don't want to be throwing money at tactics that aren't pulling their weight.

  • Don't get bogged down by vanity metrics. LinkedIn emphasises the importance of measuring what truly drives business outcomes. Focus on the metrics that align with your goals, revenue, and sales, so you can make data-driven decisions that actually move the needle.

  • And let's not forget the importance of tracking your success metrics. LinkedIn recommends leveraging tools like the Campaign Manager Reporting Dashboard for comprehensive measurement, the Revenue Attribution Report to understand the true business value of your efforts, and Conversions API for granular campaign insights.
