The LinkedIn Audit: Get Seen, Get Hired.

The LinkedIn Audit: Get Seen, Get Hired.

Why You’re Not Getting Traction on LinkedIn

If you've been applying to pharmaceutical / biotech roles in the industry FOR MONTHS and maybe even longer, it's time to assess what's not working.

In my experience, many assume that it’s because they “lack experience” or “the market is tough.” But when I dig deeper, I see the same issue over and over:

  • They aren’t tracking their LinkedIn impact.
  • Their profile isn’t optimized for industry roles.
  • They’re invisible to the right hiring managers.

In short, most treat their LinkedIn profile like a static CV or resume.

LET'S BE CLEAR: LinkedIn is NOT simply a digital resume / CV. It's a CAREER POSITIONING TOOL. It’s how you build your network to attract the right people. It's how you show credibility and value to industry decision-makers. It’s how industry recruitment teams find talent and how you influence your network.

If you’re not actively measuring your profile’s performance, you're flying blind. You have no idea whether it’s attracting the right opportunities or keeping you invisible. And in this competitive market, you want to STAND OUT AND BE SEEN TO GET HIRED.

HERE'S THE BOTTOMLINE: If your LinkedIn isn’t working, neither is your job search. You also can't improve what you don't measure. It's a double whammy.

How to Audit & Fix Your LinkedIn Profile

Let me help. Here’s what you need to do to get found, get interviews, and get hired.

1. Profile Views – Are You Even Getting Noticed?

If your profile views are low, that means recruiters aren’t finding you.

Check Analytics → Profile Views. Look at the # of views and who’s viewing your profile.

  • Low views? Your profile isn’t showing up in searches.
  • Getting views but no messages? You’re not engaging enough.
  • Views from recruiters and industry professionals? That’s a strong sign—keep going!

???Fix: Your profile should be optimized with industry-specific keywords.

2. Search Appearances – Are You in the Right Searches?

Showing up in searches is great—but are you appearing in the right ones?

Check Analytics → Search Appearances.

  • Are recruiters and hiring managers from pharma/biotech finding you?
  • Are you showing up in searches for your industry target roles?

???Fix: Adjust your job titles, skills, and summary to reflect the roles you’re targeting.

3. Content Engagement – Are You Visible to the Right People?

Most job seekers never post on LinkedIn—which makes them INVISIBLE. Check your post views, comments, and shares. Are industry professionals engaging with your posts? Why and why not? Are you showing up in conversations relevant to your targeted industry, network?

???Fix: Start engaging. Comment on industry posts and share your insights, knowledge, and expertise. You don’t need to go viral—you simply need to show you’re active and credible in the industry.

4. Connection Growth – Are You Expanding Your Industry Network?

Your network directly impacts your job search. If you’re only connected to other similar professionals, you’re limiting your opportunities. Look at your connection growth.

  • Are you connecting and building relationships with the right people?
  • Are you proactively reaching out to recruiters and industry professionals?

???Fix: Connect with 5-10 industry professionals weekly. Send messages. Engage with their posts. The more quality industry connections you have, the more visible you are.

Track. Adjust. Improve.

When you start tracking and adjusting your LinkedIn performance, I guarantee that your:

? Profile views will double—people will start finding you.

? You appear in industry searches—no longer stuck in recruitment filters.

? Easier to connect with hiring managers and network—leading to real conversations and referrals.

I’ve seen medical and scientific professionals go from zero traction to multiple interview invites—just by fixing their LinkedIn approach and strategy.

If you’re not getting traction in your job search, don’t assume it’s the market. Audit your LinkedIn.

Your next opportunity is out there—but only if the right people can find you.
