6 Months and Counting – Trying to Set Up WhatsApp Business for a Client, But Facing Roadblocks
As a marketing manager, helping my clients establish effective communication channels is a key responsibility. For over six months now, I’ve been trying to set up WhatsApp Business for one of my clients, but I’ve repeatedly faced the same frustrating error: "WhatsApp is unavailable, please try again later."
This post is a plea to WhatsApp Support and WhatsApp Business to help me resolve this ongoing issue. I’m also reaching out to the LinkedIn community for any advice or support.
The Situation
For the last six months, I’ve been trying to register my client’s primary phone number (+91 72890 31740) on WhatsApp Business. Despite following all the recommended steps from the WhatsApp Help Center, I keep encountering the same issue.
What’s confusing is that when I attempt to register other numbers, I’m able to receive the verification code without any problems. But for my client’s number, no code ever arrives—whether by SMS or phone call.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:

Reaching Out to WhatsApp Support – No Real Help
Over the past several months, I’ve contacted WhatsApp support multiple times. However, I’ve only received automated responses suggesting the same troubleshooting steps that I’ve already tried, with no resolution in sight.

None of these steps have helped, and I haven’t been able to reach an actual support agent to look into this issue in detail.

For my client, WhatsApp Business is essential for seamless communication with their customers and partners. It’s a critical tool for managing inquiries, sending updates, and staying connected with their audience. Delays in setting up this account are affecting their ability to operate effectively and provide timely service to their customers.
