With This LinkedIn Algorithm Change, Your Best Posts Could Reach New Readers for Years
Is it weird to talk about LinkedIn... on LinkedIn? A little. But we're doing it because we think you're going to want to hear this one: LinkedIn has already been a great stealth platform for promoting your personal brand, and with some new changes rolling out, it's about to get even better.
As with most platforms, posts on LinkedIn live and die very quickly on the newsfeed. But a new feature called "suggested posts" attempts to mitigate this by showing your best posts to targeted users for months or even years. The idea is to prioritize genuine "knowledge and advice" over virality or timeliness. That means your thoughtful, helpful, but niche post on beverage marketing won't just reach people who happen to log on to LinkedIn that day. Beverage marketers who hop onto the platform in six months could see it too.
This is only one of many changes LinkedIn is experimenting with this year — you'll also see new buttons above people's posts and profiles ("visit my site!"), a verified badge, thought leadership ads, and of course, the dreaded algorithm change.

Here is a quote from the source, Dan Roth: "If you can just share knowledge into the world, I guarantee you things are going to work out," he says. "They won't always work out for every single post, but over the length of your posting, it is going to work out for you." Cheers, rjbranche.com
