LinkedIn 2023: Algor has changed it's Rithm

Thank you for viewing this feature, stemming from On Point and looking at alternative news and updates surrounding the fields of #Sales, #Marketing and #Leadership, a magazine now with global distribution channels and growing Subscriber bases across various platforms, it's astounding how fast it has grown.

That's not a typo in the title, nor is this feature about the former Vice President of the United States, but instead the character influencing many of us everyday in our careers, the #LinkedIn Algorithm.

Spending huge Budgets for online Marketing & #SocialMedia for companies and clients over the years, it's critical to stay up-to-date on platforms to add value and generate ROI, assessing recent trends, upgrades or changing techniques.

Supported by research, background knowledge and many facets coming direct from the 'Horses Mouth' itself, this #Newsletter presents three aspects you may not have known or only heard about, now helping to align your profile and Social Media content accordingly.

1. RING THOSE BELLS!!

You’ve been on LinkedIn for a number of years, made some great connections, moved jobs, projects, roles and a few years go by …then you wonder, why don’t I see LinkedIn updates from ‘such and such’ that I met way back when?? The answer, you need to ‘Ring their Bell’!!

Benefitting against the ever up-surging world of Digital Technology, Social Media and dare it be said, Content, the ‘Ring the Bell’ feature was introduced by LinkedIn back in 2021 allowing Users more control over their Newsfeed. It was phased into use by staggered effect and is now available to most if not all Users, however not everybody has come to know about it.

Follow this link to find out more with a quick step feature to Ring the Bell, especially useful if you work in Sales, Marketing or Content Management and want to ensure all of your updates & posts are seen more frequently.

2. ARE SOME PEOPLE REALLY THAT POPULAR?!!

Have you been following somebody on LinkedIn for some time, maybe a commercial celebrity or business guru and started to notice that within a few minutes of launching a post they accumulate not just hundreds, but thousands (if not 10’s of thousands) of Likes or Comments, wondering what you might be doing wrong when posting yourself?? The issue may well be Engagement Pods.

Engagement Pods tend to be software functions were, typically for a fee or a monthly charge, software and affiliated individuals will Like, Comment and therefore Engage on a post to carry it as far as they can. This makes the post seem more popular than it is, as well as floating the post higher in Social Media platforms because algorithms think the post has more engagement.

Sounds tremendous right?? Errrmmm, not really. Click on this link or the article below to discover how this practice can cause more harm than good:

3. NO MORE TEARS

Tired of seeing people crying on?LinkedIn, or just not seeing the right content? There is a way to change that.

For starters, Content Creators and businesses alike finally (FINALLY!!) realised that Emotion is a key driver for gaining attention, although in many circumstances they kind of overdid it. For sure sympathising, or better still,?empathising?with people having bad days is good, but it did pose a question as to why moments of despair may want to be shared on Social Media …and that’s even if all of them were actually genuine!!

Many people don't realise that their Newsfeed is what they make it. Actions on LinkedIn provide an indication to the algorithm of what you’d like to see. For example, click on one crying post then you’re likely to see another. Click on the next (two total) you’re likely to see three more, etc. In fact, if you'd like to use LinkedIn for professional purposes and higher value content, you're best to mould your Newsfeed to how you want it. How is this done? A simple 2-Step process is available below:
