Linka: The journey so far and 2025 plans

Since launching Linka back in November it has been a hectic, stressful but also very rewarding and purposeful couple of months.?

Thank you!

Before anything else, I wanted to express my enormous gratitude to everyone we have leaned on over the past months who has freely offered guidance, advice, reassurance and referrals. There are too many to name but it really does mean the world to us! We live in a pretty turbulent world currently so it’s gratifying to know there are still so many kind people out there willing to help wherever they can!

Linka’s Market Positioning

When Carl and I set out to build Linka it was tricky finding our niche and how to stand out from what let’s face it, is a fairly saturated market! However, what resonated most to us was that recruitment isn’t about placing the best, most exceptional, amazing people into the coolest, biggest, most innovative companies out there. It’s about understanding that everyone has their place and the art of great recruitment is linking (hence the name Linka!) up the people and companies that best suit each other, therefore creating the longest, most successful relationships.

Over the years, I’ve always been reticent to push back on clients or candidates who aren’t interested in a candidate or opportunity unless I really believe that something is right for them. Forcing things to happen is a sure fire way to piss off people quickly! So that’s how we want to build Linka, by finding everyone their ideal fit - because those are the matches that ensure our candidates & clients have a really positive experience when working with us.?

How’s it going?

The honest answer is that running a business is stressful & vulnerable but also motivating & purposeful. There’s no doubt that imposter syndrome kicks in when moving from recruiter to business owner knowing that your capacity to earn is entirely dependent on how many placements you can make! But I know I’ve been seeking the opportunity to move out of my comfort zone and re-find my purpose so running a business has provided that as well as the opportunities to wear so many more hats!!

We’re super proud and grateful to have already placed with and recruited for a number of clients and we are really motivated to continue delivering an elevated, positive service to everyone we work with.

2025..

And as for the rest of 2025, we already have some exciting plans in place including:

  • Our first Melbourne trip in early February to catch up with some old and new faces!?
  • Launching our first event within the Data / Analytics space in March
  • Hosting an exec transformation roundtable event
  • Growing our own team
  • Continuing to become an extension of our client’s brands and finding the right homes for our candidates

We’re locked in for the rollercoaster of 2025 and I can’t wait to see it unfold…
